Sakata Ornamentals is seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing Manager to manage and execute marketing activities in EMEA for our product portfolio. We are particularly proud of our Lisianthus and SunPatiens. The primary goal is to maximize financial performance through strategic marketing and communications efforts. This role involves developing, coordinating and executing marketing communications plans, public relations activities, and events in line with our Ornamentals Strategy.
The Marketing Department plays a pivotal role in driving the company’s success through a variety of essential functions. This includes meticulous marketing planning to ensure strategic alignment with business goals, and image and photography coordination to maintain a consistent and appealing brand presence. The department is also responsible for product marketing, effectively promoting new and existing products to the target audience. Additionally, website management is needed for maintaining an engaging and user-friendly online presence.
Lastly, the department provides customer support related to marketing, ensuring that all customer inquiries and issues are addressed promptly and professionally.
Key responsibilities
Marketing Communications: Develop and implement strategies for marketing communications, including public relations and event management.
Strategic Marketing Planning: Identify target audiences within defined markets and develop strategies to effectively communicate with them.
Financial Management: Prepare and manage marketing plans and related budgets.
Event Management: Plan and execute trade shows, exhibitions and internal meetings.
Team Management: Lead, manage and participate in the marketing department consisting of a 2-person team understanding if you want to go fast, go alone – if you want to go far, go together.
Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze market trends and study competitors’ products and services.
The challenge
In this role, you will demonstrate the ability to synthesize and integrate information from multiple sources to generate insights. You have a thorough understanding of branding knowledge and a wide range of marketing techniques particularly pertaining to the horticulture sector.
Your communication skills are fine-tuned, also when it comes to writing press/social media releases and making presentations to present to all levels.
Time management skills are crucial to manage projects and achieve goals efficiently. You will actively seek and understand input from others to gain broad alignment, showcasing your listening and influencing abilities. Maintaining discretion and respecting confidentiality, especially regarding trade knowledge, is paramount.

Your profile
You are proficient with Microsoft Office programs especially PowerPoint and Excel. You have an affinity with (Ornamental) horticulture or related fields and obviously love flowers!
You possess competent working knowledge of graphics programmes including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, in order to manage and monitor graphics suppliers.
Your hands-on approach makes you a great self-starter and your enthusiasm knows no nine-to-five mentality.
You also know that effective teamwork begins and ends with strong communication which is why you demonstrate effective and empathetic leadership.
